Autoimmune disease – rheumatism
The immune system normally protects us from infections and diseases. When it becomes overactive, the immune system can erroneously attack healthy cells, leading to autoimmune diseases that affect many parts of the body. The first signs of autoimmune disease are common: fatigue, muscle pain, mild fever and inflammation that can cause pain, swelling, heat and redness.
Treatment depends on the disease, but in most cases reducing inflammation helps significantly in autoimmune diseases.
