WAVE MINI PROTHESIS
SURFACE REPLACEMENT
The WAVE was developed in 2009 by Prof. Philip Schoettle and is used in isolated osteoarthritis of the PF joint when biological procedures and relieving surgical procedures have been exhausted.
The anatomically shaped WAVE prosthesis is currently the only joint replacement in which the anatomy can be adapted in all details with different curvatures according to the thigh bone almost tailor-made. Since it is also the thinnest prosthesis on the market, bone loss is marginal and there are no problems with protrusion and increased pain-inducing pressure between the kneecap and thigh.
Another advantage of the WAVE surface replacement is the way in which it is fixed: The WAVE prosthesis is fixed into the underlying healthy bone by means of a screw, which results in rapid biological healing.
This characteristic and the very good results of this joint replacement in everyday life and sports have led to the WAVE prosthesis now being used in leading clinics worldwide.
